Year 4 at Minstead… Update 2!

Hello to all from Minstead! A good night had by all at the camp – everyone out asleep by 10:30pm!

Last night saw children making lanterns following a dinner of hot homemade pizza and wedges after a chilly day! Dessert was a delicious hedgerow-blackberry crumble, served with custard!

All of the children continue to focus on earning environmental awareness beads for necklaces that they are making and have all also been given Latin names of animals – Mr Burt has been given the name “Mr Natrix” – meaning the snake (or Mr Snape as he is now being known!)

A hearty breakfast and bedroom inspections (the results of which were varied!) has been followed by the Thengapalli song! One lucky child is nominated each day to carry the Thenga stick for part of the day’s activities…

Today, children have been caring for the sheep (called Barbara and Benji) and will be gardening too.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and feel free to leave a comment below as well, to let us know what you think…

Bye for now, from all at Minstead!

  1. Another day full of great activities. Sounds like everyone is having a super time. Wish I was there!! Have a fantastic time at the bonfire and see you tomorrow Alice xx

  2. It was so fun at Minstead, my favourite thing was sitting round the campfire and telling stories. The dormitories were tidy and had comfortable beds too.
