PE – An update about Year 1 and 3

Spring 1 2017Frogs, Athletes, Football, Tennis, Golf, Funny, Cute

This half term Mrs Serridge, our physical education professional development coach, has been working with Mrs Pullan in Year 1 and Mrs Corker in Year 3.

The year 1 class have been following a unit on Multi-Skills, which covers the Fundamental movement skills of Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. We have used a variety of equipment, including cones, agility ladders, spots, bean bags, benches, skipping ropes, balance cushions and a variety of balls. The children have also enjoyed improving their co-ordination by dancing to some JustDance clips from YouTube.

The year 3 class has been doing a Ball Skills unit. This has included different activities to improve their throwing and catching, controlling the ball with their feet and bat and ball skills. With the skills learnt the children can progress in a huge variety of sports and activities.

Keep up the superb effort!
