This morning, the hall was filled with the sound of singing, as classes across the school performed a selection of Christmas songs. Parents and friends packed the hall and it was wonderful to see so many relatives coming along, making the event even more special for the children this morning.
Dolphins gave a tear jerking rendition of “Somewhere Only We Know” – several tissues were needed afterwards.
Manta Ray performed a trouser splitting performance of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” much to the amusement of the watching audience.
Orcas then gave a wonderfully sung performance of “When Christmas Comes to Town” which was well received by all.
The whole of KS2 then joined in well known classics such as “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday!”
Polar Bears sang a tuneful performance of “Last Christmas” which again was listened to and appreciated by all.
Sea Otters managed to keep up with the quick pace of the “Jingle Bell Rock” including actions along the way too!
Penguins then sang “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” accompanied by finger saxophone playing as well!
Finally, children across the Key Stage ended with a finale performance of “Snow Is Falling” including Makaton signing, which has so often been seen during our musical performances!
A huge thank you to all of the many parents who turned up (and sang along too!) Despite being nervous, the children did you all and the school proud.
We are looking forward to next year already! Enjoy the Christmas break…
