Rainbow Inclusion Day 2018!

As part of Holbrook’s commitment to be an inclusive school (and in keeping with our Inclusion Quality Mark too) the school held a cake sale, fundraising and singing assembly to mark our Rainbow Day!

Makaton Mash-Up!

INSET days are always busy and packed full-to-the-brim with lots of useful learning. 

Along with ICT skills and Science on today’s agenda, staff have also had an introduction to Makaton.

Final Celebration Assembly ~ Spirit of Holbrook!

For the final assembly of the year, children across the school celebrated another successful year!

The assembly began with a fantastic makaton performance led by Mr Moloney and his choir with a fantastic rendition of “Love Is Easy” by McFly – if you want to listen to the song you can find it here… If you think you would like to join in with this amazing choir, then pop along to makaton choir next year – it is open to ALL year groups!

Good attendance awards:

These were then given out by Mrs Potter, to a wide selection of children across the school, who have managed to be in school for at least 99% of lessons and learning time. What a fantastic achievement! Well done!

Spirit of Holbrook:

Starfish: Dillan Young: for growing in confidence, being helpful, caring and working hard. He has also been talking more confidently with his friends and has been an excellent artist too!

Clownfish: Lacy Houghton: for being kind, caring and determined, always listening in lessons and often encouraging others in their work too.

LRB1 (Mr Moloney): Samuel Cotterill: Working really hard, showing enthusiasm in all lessons and overcoming difficulties. He is a really conscientious member of the class, offering help to others without being asked.

Angelfish: Callum Smith: for trying exceptionally hard this year, showing resilience and never giving up. He has made huge amounts of progress and continues to try hard in all lessons.

Jellyfish: Katie Blackman: for being an extremely engaged and enthusiastic member of the class, showing excellent progress and working hard in all that she does, with a real thirst for learning.

Penguins: Paula Reimarte-Lozberga: is an actively engaged member of the class, always interested in the curriculum, stretching herself in lessons. She has been role model for the class and should be extremely proud of her efforts this year.

LRB2 (Mrs Sivier): Bethany Punter: Always motivated to learn and pushing herself to move on to new tasks, as well as being a keen baker using her reading and Maths skills along the way.

Hydra: Ruby Anne-Smith: A great role model to others, always listening in class and never giving up. She is a caring member of the class who should be very proud of how she has grown this year.

Harpy: Lily Mae-Robertson: Has made great progress this year and has grown in confidence. She has been offering contributions in lessons and helping others too.

Kraken: Lauren Powell: An impressive attitidue, articulate and curious in all of her learning, including being a considerate member of the class too.

KT5 (Mr Thorns): Katie Cooper: for trying exceptionally hard, thinking about her comments and work and always trying to stretch herself in her work too.

Orca: Natasha Haines: Always chatting to visitors and speaking to others with a great attitude. There is regularly a trail of KS1 pupils behind her, owing to her caring and thoughtful nature.

Dolphin: Lola Feasey: Taking part in school events, especially the school football team, and contributing magnificently to Year 6.

Year 6 Be Your Best Awards!

These were awarded to children for their contributions and efforts in learning, working tirelessly across the school, supporting children and adults along the way. These were awarded to Jake Smith and Moriham Ahmed. A fantastic achievement and they should both be exceptionally proud.

Head Boy & Head Girl:

Thomas Pullan & Evelyn Rosenbrock were voted into their posts by the entire staff team, who will represent the school at local events and work closely with visitors to the school over the coming year too.
